Here are some poems that I wrote in 4th and
5th grade. (i actually wrote these!)
I was in my bed
When the sun awoke me
I got up with care
And outside I would flee
And there to see
Was snow lying on the ground
Just waiting for me
I went back inside
And still there was no sound
Suddenly I saw some motion
I had better get in bed quick
But I had not to worry
Because it was only my dad
Sleep walking
Trying to get a candlestick

The moon shines so bright
And the whales swim in the starlight
The bigger whales make a wave
And it washes up in a nearby cave

Falling from the sky
I see with my little eye
A raindrop coming down
And hitting a little clown
Do you see it too?
That little thing that is blue
Because I do!

Springtime

Trees, some nice and tall
Some very small
Trees, leafy and green
The land tranquil and serene
Flowers, peeking from the ground
In springtime, it’s the beginning of sound
Flowers, reaching for the sky
Colors beautiful to the eye
Butterflies, flit from flower to flower
Warming their wings in the sunny hour
Butterflies, small floating jewels
In flowers, they drink from nectar pools
